FREE Grocery Store Cell Phone Apps

Sunday, January 24, 2016

When I was a bit younger, grocery shopping really didn't seem to bother me all that much. C'Mon, let's face it.....it's a form of shopping.

It seems the older I get, the less time I have to dedicate to roaming up and down grocery store aisles reading every label and comparing prices. Who has time to look through each and every circular hunting down the weeks best bargains? I definitely have adopted the "get in and get er done" attitude.

If you are like me, always in a rush, and most certainly have your cell phone attached to your hip, these grocery store phone apps could be just the extra help you need.

Not only are these apps free, they can be both time and lifesavers, and I can't wait to try some of them out on this weeks shopping trip!

Buying food that's in season and locally grown will be easier on your budget. Check out Locavore, a free app that'll help you find local, in-season food in your area.

If you want the 411 on deals that are going on in supermarkets, discount stores, and pharmacies, this free app called Grocery Pal will show you where the sales items are at.

Instead of clipping coupons, download the free Coupon Sherpa app to find coupons. When you're checking out your groceries, the app will display the bar code that the cashier can scan to give you the discount.

With this free Apples2Oranges app, you can compare the prices of two products to see which one gives you the most for your money.

Big Oven allows you to take over 350,000 recipes, your grocery list, and menu planner anywhere. With more than 11 million downloads, BigOven is the most complete tool to help home cooks get inspired and organized in the kitchen and on-the-go.

Pepperplate is the only app for serious cooks - it has all the tools you need to cook weeknight dinners or host a dinner party for 12. Manage your recipes, create menus, shop with ease and cook like a pro.

  1. Wow!!! This is really helpful :) I cook daily, I'm addicted to cooking and grocery shopping :) When I worked I use to meal plan every Sunday and cook all day for like the first 3 days. Then cook again on wed. Now I'm home so I cook daily or every other day. But its my happy place and so is the grocery store :)
