Reflecting on 2015, I have come to the conclusion that my new word for the New Year is : Simple.
Simple life, simple fun, simple home decor.
My heart loves the simple things in life, and I'm really going to try to extend that mindset into my decorating this year. I always re-purpose, re-use and re-store old items, but I'll definitely make more of a conscious effort to do more so over the upcoming months.
There's something really special about finding old items and bringing them into my home to give them another round at a new life.
I was so excited to stop into my local Salvation Army yesterday to spot this really cute metal pitcher (already filled with lavender). This twisted iron candle holder was calling my name too!
I was able to pick up both pieces for under $5.00 and felt like I really scored!
I took down all of my Christmas decor this week and my fireplace mantle was bare as bare could be.
I displayed these DIY wood orbs, books wrapped in butcher paper, and my Painted Fox perpetual calendar to create this simple vignette.
Simple need not be expensive or complicated!
Simple = GOOD.
Now to decorate the other side of the mantle.......stay tuned, I can't wait to share what I come up with!
