Painted Fox- doughbowl

Hey there Fall Lover!

Who's ready for a really fun and fast DIY Fall project?
I've been seeing so many cute Fall banners all over Instagram lately, that I decided to make one myself. I wanted to spruce up my black fireplace box and this banner is the perfect touch.

Don't get me wrong.....I love the cute banners I've spotted in the Target One Spot but thought it would be fun to customize the banner words and make good use of some leftover scrapbook paper I had on hand.

Easy Fall Banner

     DIY Fall Banner Supplies:

  1. Cardstock (to create triangle template)
  2. Scrapbook paper
  3. Scissors
  4. Marker/pen to trace triangle shape
  5. Hot glue gun
  6. Twine
  7. Ruler to create straight lines of drawing triangle freehand

If a DIY project is fast, easy and inexpensive, I'm ALL over it! This project literally took me about a half hour to complete, start to finish.

I cut a triangle shape out of heavy cardstock freehand. I'm sure there are triangle templates that you can download from the internet, but I just winged it. What can I say? that's how I roll!
I chose a rustic Fall scrapbook paper that I have had for years and traced the triangle shape using the cardstock template. I used a 12x12 piece of scrapbook paper and was able to cut the six triangle shapes all from the same piece.

I chose large black stickers for the banner letters and added one to the center of each triangle. I measured the length above my fireplace box and cut the twine allowing an additional six inches to hang on either side.

Power up your glue gun, dab a few pieces on the back of each triangle piece and voila!
You too, have created a super cute Fall banner!

I hung the banner from my fireplace using invisible scotch tape....easey peasey!

This gingham patterned banner  dresses up an otherwise plain little area. I added in my Painted Fox Istanbul dough bowl filled with burlap pumpkins for a perfect touch of rustic Fall. Afterall, who doesn't love pumpkins?

DIY- Fall- Banner

This was such an easy DIY project and my mind is already racing with ideas to create banners for Thanksgiving and Christmas too!

If you create a banner of your own, please tag me on Instagram because I'd love to see yours too!

  1. Banners are so much fun to make and look at. I make most of my banners out of drop cloth fabric and a little paint. My son's new in-laws moved here from Turkey and they keep an apartment in Istanbul. I made a Welcome banner for them, but it says HOSGELDINEZ.

Today I am working on my Halloween mantel, but the banner will be old book pages.

    1. Thanks for stopping by Carol! Can't wait to see your Halloween mantle!

  2. Looks great! I'm all for quick and easy projects like this. Wondering if my kids would like to make one too

    1. Too fun Oscar....your kiddos would love this...you could make one for their bedrooms:)
